Angel (Benny) Benitez
Hi there, my name is Benny Benitez, and I have been practicing massage therapy since 1988, after graduating from Potomac Myotherapy Training Institute. I am nationally certified and have been certified by the state of Virginia to practice as a Certified Massage Therapist. I am licensed to practice in Fairfax County as well as Fairfax City.
My goals are to provide massage therapy in the area of "Stress Management and Rehabilitation of Athletic Injuries". My focus, over the years has been to provide massage therapy for clients using Swedish and Deep Tissue massage techniques.
Swedish Massage: It is a technique that consists of gentle, rhythmic strokes over the skin. By definition, it is general rather than specific, using all the basic techniques for massage. The body's tissues are pampered to allow deep relaxation to begin.
Deep Tissue: Deep and focused, these friction movements make use of thumbs, fingertips, or the heel of the hand to reach down into the tissue where more hidden tension may lie.
During the period of 1988-1990, I was the head trainer for the "Washington Diplomats" professional soccer team. I have also been involved in providing rehabilitation massage therapy through sports/other massage techniques to college and high school soccer teams on a regular basis.
Through my ongoing education, I have had training in the area of medical massage, working with geriatric and fibromyalgia patients, using massage to ease pain and improve health.
